I’m a completely self-taught doodler. I woke up one morning in my mid-teens and discovered that I really enjoy drawing and, hey, I could actually do it! How’d that happen? I’ve never taken a class, never had instruction on technique or methods or mediums… and so half of the time I’m putting ink to paper without a clue how each mark will affect the next. I’ve just been going with what feels right.
As an adult, I find myself completely amazed by nature and all it’s beauty. So, naturally the local wildlife became a focus. I’ve spent hours and hours perfecting my own unique style with black ink and the use of negative space eventually transforming dots and lines into the stunning works you see on display now. My love for birds of prey in particular is evident in the extraordinary feather textures and visually appealing 3D effect in the eyes of my pieces that is truly unrivaled.
I live in Centreville, MD, with my wife and children and create these works in our home art studio. I am available for commission work so if you have something in mind, please reach out to me!
